What ages is this appropriate for?

The questions in the Family Pack are purposefully designed by family & communication experts to be relevant and engaging for ages 5 and up. You can confidently pull any card, knowing it will be suitable for all ages, family types & confidence levels

Will my family want to participate with this? I’m worried they might think it’s a bit silly and not want to engage…

Children will respond to the enthusiasm levels of the adults around them. When you lead with excitement and are intentional about setting up the activity, you’ll often find that kids won’t want to put the cards away!

Why should I use these cards instead of just asking “How was your day?” like I always do?

How was your day’ gets boring fast! Our cards are an easy way to start conversations when you want to spend meaningful time together but don’t have the energy, time or inspiration to come up with interesting questions that pique everyone’s interest.

What’s the difference between the Family, Kids, and Teens packs? Which one should we use as a family?

We always recommend starting with the Family pack – it’s appropriate for all ages with open, general prompts that work for everyone. Then when you (or they) want more, the Kids and Teens packs are targeted to the topics and interests of those ages.

Will these cards work for complicated families, single-parent families, or families without a main parent figure?

Yes! While some questions reference ‘parents’, these can be easily modified in the asking or answering to suit any family situation. Every question is suitable for all ages, family structures, and confidence levels.
